Who We Are

Support Systems (SZM New Materials) is an integrated high-tech enterprise covering research & development, manufacturing and sales. Our core products include utility-tunnel (cable management) brackets, seismic bracing, solar mounting systems, cast-in (embedded) channel and a full range of seismic support and hanger accessories and metal fabrications. Our production facility covers more than 8,000 m².

Since our founding we have focused on the R&D and manufacture of seismic bracing. Within China's MEP seismic-support sector we follow a philosophy of "precision and premium craftsmanship," driving real value for our customers and partners.

With complete shop-drawing / deepening-design support and a full, compatible product range, we deliver reliable protection for government projects, large venues, commercial real estate, urban underground utility tunnels, rail transit and industrial facilities.

What Is Seismic Bracing?

Seismic bracing comprises the components and assemblies that, during an earthquake, restrain the displacement of non-structural MEP services, control vibration, and transfer loads to the load-bearing structure.

After seismic reinforcement, building services — water supply & drainage, fire protection, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, gas, district heating, electrical and telecommunications — can withstand the local seismic design intensity. This reduces earthquake damage, helps prevent secondary disasters, and ultimately protects lives and property.

  • Must give reliable protection to MEP services in an earthquake and resist seismic action from any horizontal direction.
  • Must be verified by calculation against the loads it carries.
  • All members should use finished (proprietary) components, with fasteners that are easy to install.
  • For insulated pipework, restraints are sized to post-insulation dimensions and must not restrict thermal expansion / contraction.

To mitigate earthquake damage, China's Code for Seismic Design of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering in Buildings (GB 50981-2014) requires seismic design for building MEP — including water supply & drainage, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, gas, electrical, telecommunications and fire-protection non-structural attachments.
